Sometimes in the middle of the day
I think that we are like wildflowers
Or the grass that dries and blows away
With the passing of the hours
And when I think of all the time we’ve lost
Beneath the ticking of the clocks
The memories I cherish most
Are when we just laughed and talked

And then I want to sing I love you
I want to stop the sun and moon
And make myself lose track
Of the mirrors and the facts
To see right through the static to behold you
And then I stop the sun and moon

I feel the pull of gravity
I feel the space between us
I’m not always what I need to be
Sometimes I am blue for no reason
I see the knife called life that always cuts
I’m beaten by the rain and by the wind
Some days I have autumn in my thoughts
But when I see you it’s always spring again
